Air Force Appreciation Day Parade--it's tradition

It's tradition to head to the parade each year.  we've taken the kids for the past few years and it is fun...and the magic of the parade is CANDY!  everyone that is in the parade knows the most important thing is to throw lots of candy and prizes for everyone.  Usually COSTCO is there and throws rolls of toilet paper--that's where you see the parents really stand up and rally for the roll!  Costco didn't come this year...Ethan said "maybe they were out of toilet paper"..could be!

You know that the parade is starting when the 4 fighter jets do the "fly by"...it's amazing.  and i really love it when the flag is the first thing to walk down the road (after the cops clear the way).  It's so emotional to hear the parents around us teaching their kids how to stand and put their hands on their hearts out of respect.  Really sweet to watch our rambunctous boys with their hands on their heart, quiet for a moment as they watch them walk by with the flag.  it's times like this that i am glad that we live in a small town.  nowhere else do they have parades like this, with so much community support.  just look at the pictures...nowhere else do parades have weapons and fire trucks spraying us, and tanks!  that is cool... here are some pix for your viewing...
