Quinten's little Miracle

I'mtyping this late at night and i already took my contacts out so please forgive the typos!  :)   Quinten woke up in the middle of the night crying, sying his ear hurt.  After trying to soothe him for a bit, we realized that it was serious pain and it wasn't working.  It was almost like  he was in a trance--it woke him up and Quinten seemed as if he was still half asleep.  It's funny what runs through your head when your child is sick...should we take him into the doctor, do i have any medicine here in the house, what an i do to help him, how will i work tomorrow?  All these thoughts within about 3 minutes.  I asked Dan to give him a priesthood blessing and that seemed to calm Quinten down a bit and we decided to go to the couch to watch Willie Wonka (the Gene Wilder version).  Quinten and Ethan have been hooked on it lately.  Quinten still wouldn't take any tylenol (had thrown it up already).  We watched Willie for about 15 minutes and i was able to convince him to take some medicine.  I gave him some Tylenol with codiene that we had--i think that i gave him 1ml, which was about 1/8 of a teaspoon.  Hardly any but it helped to calm my nerves!  :)  About 2am, Quinten finally laid down a bit.  I laid down next to him too.  Thank heavens, i thought.  i'm so tired and i gotta work in the morning!  Still rubbing his head and soothing him, he was still wimpering a bit.  I gave him a little bit more of the tylenol and he both fell asleep.

About 4am, Quinten was tossing and turning and couldn't get comfortable and was wimpering again.  In my head, i was panicking, did i give him too much tylenol or was their something else going on?  Should i take him to the ER?  Ugh!  i wasn't thinking very rationally at this point.  i was rubbing his back and i said, Quinten, should we say a prayer?  He responded back with a yeah mom, say a prayer.  I said a prayer to help him be comfortable and for the pain to go away so he could sleep and rest so we could go to the doctor in the morning to get medicine.  A little miracle in our life happened which meant so much to me.

Before the end of the prayer, Quinten had stopped tossing and turning and fell asleep.  i couldn't believe it was answered so fast!!!  What a wonderful blessing for our family!  I know that it is a little miracle for God to answer our prayer so quickly but to also put this sweet little boy out of his misery so he could sleep!   And so his very tired mom could sleep too.  I'm grateful for prayer and for those sweet moments that remind me that God is there and that he does care and love us.

Quinten slept soundly until 9.50am when Dan had to wake him up to go to the doctor appointment.  Woke up happy  (another little miracle!  haha)
