Now that the Q-man's birthday is over, all focus has returned to the ever famous Halloween costume! What's with that? we have 30 days or something, right? Ethan has been getting on youtube and looking up Transformer costumes....now he seriously wants to be a life size Transformer---you can be a person and then tranform into a car. Oh, and there are videos out there of people with hours and hours of time on their hands who make it so. We don't have time to make it tiny and then scale to 8 yr old size.
So i've been gathering boxes from work and we will start the process.....not sure how it will work. I even asked Ethan again tonight, Are you sure you want to be this for Halloween????

So...I'm picturing a large box over his torso, and small boxes over his forearms and calves. The front and back surfaces are painted while he is standing up, and the sides are painted while he is crouched down with the arm and leg boxes pulled next to the big box- maybe as wheels? or fenders? Depends how he scrunches up, and what a sideview of a car would look like.... I don't know if that makes any sense, or is even useful, but boy, it'll be creative!!
I'm lucky this year. Hyrum wants to be a mummy, and I had an old sheet ready to rip into rags.
Oh, if Quentin wants to be a shark, Hyrum was a shark in grey sweat pants. Then we took a grey hoodie, with a homemade fin sewn on the back, and cut out a row of teeth out of white felt and sewed it around the opening of the hood (so his face was in the shark's mouth). I used felt and put eyes on the hood, too, and as a final touch put a "SHARK" nametag on him so people could figure out the costume easier. I wish I knew how to send a picture...
