The girls had a nice lunch at our fav--Conditerrai restaurant. Kim had to work so she was the only one missing. We had a nice lunch and divine cake! i think that this lunch with my sisters is what i look forward to most. there is nothing like sitting down with people you love and talking about nothing or something. sisters can do that for hours. sisters understand you like nobody else and they can read you like a book. Lies don't work here because they know you are lying when you say, ya,things are fine. they read each glance and each statement like it's meant and sometimes they don't have to say a word, just a nod of understanding means the world. ...and the cake is pretty good too.
Mike arrived on Tuesday and the infamous family portraits began. What fun it was! i just can't believe that we've grown so much and have so much fun together.

It was great to hear Quinten's stories after going here. Erik and Sarah had already talked with him about the sharks and after the vacation was all over and done with, Erik had wrestled sharks and Sarah had slept with them and then woke up screaming (that's true) and then hit one in the nose. I really hope that Quinten does not grow up and want to dive with the sharks...that would scare his mom to death!
The first night at the beach we celebrated the anniversary, complete with cake and a 50th cake topper and Paul's famous family spoof games. it was a fun walk down memory lane. We ended the evening with the book! The infamous book that has been secret for over 6 months was revealed!!! We made a book of all 50 years, full of all the fun photographs through the years. That was great.
The beach was nice, but windy. We went for a walk but came back because it was getting late.

| We felt bad that we couldn't have a bon fire at the beach, being too windy and all, so we had a nice bon fire in mom and dad's backyard. Tammy and kids taught us all how to roast starbursts. They are good but not sure i would do it again. weird oregon camping traditions! :) haha |
