Molt or Mullet?

As i was putting Ethan to bed tonight, he asked me, "what is molt?"  i really had to stretch my mind--he had been talking earlier about animals having thicker hair in the winter than in the summer and it clicked in my head that molting was what birds do in the spring.  (whew!  i remembered)  i start to explain that like a cat, bird lose their feathers in the spring too. 

Ethan said, "no.  Molt, like in the 80s?"  i thought somemore...what is he saying?  then it occured to me...MULLET!  i explained the lovely bi-level hair cut. Then i laid down and tried to think of where my South Salem High school yearbook is so i can show him a mullet.  (I still don't know where it is!)  I know that Tammy had a pretty cool one too.

Ethan has his 2nd grade program for school on Thursday.  They are doing music of the 80s.  For the past month or so, Ammon and Ethan have been singing songs from the 80s and saying things like, "did you know that in the 80s they wore their collars up?"    they've been singing Funky Town (their favorite), Achy Breaky heart, and a few others.  When Dan and I sing along, Ethan asks us, "how do you know that song?"  We have to remind him we were alive in the 80s and pretty old!   :)

Mullet.  pretty funny.  I wonder why he thought of it when we were going to bed.  I asked him if they were going to wear wigs during his program....he said no costumes!

this is a more stylish mullet in the 1980s...i think that my hair was more like this one....not Joe Dirt!
